before NFTs, I was really into running niche blogs.
I even had one that was centered entirely around candy (I’m a big sweet tooth and my favorites are things like Sour Patch Kids, Swedish Fish, and a long-forgotten snack called Zours).
this isn’t really related to anything (though there is a crossover coming up in today’s issue), but it’s funny to think about how I would write about candy as critically as I do NFTs now.
you can write about anything if you really have a passion for it, I guess.

KINGSHIP is the first NFT "band". created by the Universal Music Group, it consists of four Bored Apes and though I haven’t listened to their music yet, I can only imagine it sounds as bad as the idea itself.
but even so, as part of their marketing efforts, they have teamed up with maybe the most iconic candy in history...M&Ms.
not a bad partnership for a gimmicky project, huh?
in a special edition release, you can now buy M&Ms that have Bored Apes on the candy shell. this continues the tradition of brands slapping a Bored Ape on something and then considering themselves hip and cool.
however, if we learned anything over the last year it's that *all* Bored Ape merch has resale value. yes, even those bags from ApeFest can be sold on eBay for a premium...
I imagine these M&Ms will be no different. plus, they're deflationary because they have the built-in burn mechanism that they're delicious.

speaking of sweets, @zachxbt continues to disperse sweet, sweet justice on Twitter…one crooked scammer at a time.
this time, it’s the *alleged* person behind the NFT Twitter hackings of the past few months. and shocker…this might not be their first scam of millions of dollars.
after serving only 1 year in prison for stealing $37 million dollars in 2020, this Cameron Redman is at it again…this timing capitalizing on NFTs.
using some kind of blackhat Twitter panel, Cam was able to work around Twitter’s 2-factor authentication and once again make off with millions of dollars in assets.
while @zachxbt is pretty sure he’s the culprit, it’s still not clear *how* exactly he was able to pull this off and reset passwords. the long-standing theory is that it was perhaps an inside job.
either way, we continue to expose scammers like Cameron Redman, and that gives me some comfort that there are 1) people like @zachxbt willing to put in the work to track them down and 2) there might actually be some punitive action taken against criminals like this in the future.

insights in the thumbnail on Twitter? apparently, when you post an OpenSea collection to the platform now it’ll give you the floor price, volume, and more natively within the app. good catch @arinabbart!
shout out to her collection too. she’s a really good artist that is worth checking out!
