PREMINT, considered to be the premier allowlist tool in the space right now, was compromised on Sunday. it’s scary considering that probably all of us have interacted with PREMINT at one point or another (and the project we minted probably went to 0 too).
the silver lining? as scams and compromises have been increasing in volume, the devs are doing something.
updates to Metamask now better show if you’re setting approval for all (‘setapprovalforall’) and allowing access to your funds (the exact exploit that was taken advantage of on PREMINT).
that’s simply how technology works; it always gets better.
I’m confident with more time, we will patch up a lot of the problems we have now with our wallet’s security. that’s simply how technology works; it always gets better.
it’ll look like better messaging from dapps, more updates to existing platforms, and newer tools that will all help us better protect ourselves from scammers. it’s crazy that, as constituted, a single click can destroy everything you’ve built…
…and sometimes it’s all so you can mint something that won’t even be a part of your NFT story.
BETA ⚓️
amazon.eth received a $1 million USDC offer yesterday. this would be the largest ENS sale to date, so it seems noteworthy.
however, the owner has yet to accept the offer, which has left many scratching their heads.
I hate to give any advice in this newsletter. that’s because I’m a terrible trader and even worse negotiator. and don’t get me wrong, if I get a million-dollar offer (ok, fine even 1/10 of that) I’m slamming the ‘accept’ button.
but…
if someone is coming at you with a $1 million offer from a *fresh* wallet…just imagine what they have in their bank account.
if someone is coming at you with a $1 million offer from a *fresh* wallet…just imagine what they have in their bank account. at the very least you could counter *a tad* more without coming off as greedy.
amazon.eth (on paper) is worth more than $1 million (that’s a fact). I’m never dinging profit taking…but at the same time, not accepting this offer immediately isn’t as outrageous as some people are making it out to be.
some people just have better conviction than us paper hands and are willing to wait in order to get what they’re worth.

and my “NFT Good Guy of the Day” is Seth Greenberg who just bought an NFT. what’s your dad’s excuse? (be sure to mention this purchase to him during college basketball season so he isn’t as disappointed in your life choices).
