⚓️ BivNFT 100
gm.
yes, it’s true. BivNFT is turning 💯 today (issues, that is). and I am turning 31.
even more perfect, the NFT news over the weekend had me thinking back to the old days.
time is a flat circle. Pudgy Penguins are pumping. Apes and Punks are battling for supremacy. and I’m going to be at Disneyland unable to write about everything happening today. for that reason, I’ve prepared a walk down memory lane for all to celebrate this *semi* momentous occasion.
(don’t worry I’ll be back tomorrow with a regularly scheduled newsletter).
ALPHA ⚓️
I wrote about the “flippening” in late December of 2021. since then, the company that owns Bored Apes has actually *acquired* the company that owned CryptoPunks.
and as BendDAO wrecks havoc on the Bored Ape price floor, the Punks inch ever so closer to reclaiming that #1 spot. however, the story seems a lot more neutered now that Yuga Labs owns *both* entities.
however, it would still be *wild* and would show the staying power of NFT’s most “historic” project. I’ll never get one at this rate, will I?
(side note: please also enjoy my prediction that gaming NFTs would rip in 2022. I’m not good at this stuff, am I?)
BETA ⚓️
I regret to inform you, they’ve returned. yes, the penguins (but more importantly, the penguins discourse) is back to ruin your Twitter experience.
but we all saw this coming, no? I even wrote about it when the contract changed hands…
also, please again enjoy another bad take from me…that CryptoDads had some innovation in them still. seriously, why are you all reading my stuff?
DELTA ⚓️
leaving you today with the last newsletter I sent out after I attended Disneyland.
in January, LooksRare had just launched and the Pudgy Penguins were in turmoil. not to mention, I thought merch was a *bearish* thing for NFTs back then…and just last week, I purchased a $50 t-shirt from The Hundreds and Cool Cats.
things change but sometimes they don’t.
