⚓️ long live her
gm. can you smell what BivNFT is cooking?!
the market and NFT Twitter may be dead but I’m still writing every day. that’s because NFT news never sleeps and neither do I (that’s partly because of the 9-month-old I have though, but still).
ALPHA ⚓️
not everyone may have heard of him, but @coldpizza_xyz was one of NFT Twitter’s premiere FUDers and misanthropes. he seemed to hate everything about NFTs despite being intimately involved with them on a daily basis.
and unfortunately, we lost a soldier yesterday it seems…as his Twitter was deleted.
he’s gone (for now) and I do truly think he will be missed. NFT Twitter is like pro-wrestling…you need the heels to make it interesting.
for those that don’t know, “heels” are typically the bad guys of the wrestling world. they don’t follow the rules and they constantly go against our heroes, but often they’re the most interesting personalities in wrestling. The Rock, John Cena, Roman Reigns, etc. have all started as heels.
the same can be said about NFT Twitter…sometimes our heels are the most fun follows. Beanie, Farokh, and ColdPizza just to name a few have all been boo’ed at one time or another and have galvanized a lot of people (myself included) against them.
their pushback is necessary though. we need it to move forward and not become an echo chamber of the same ideas. ColdPizza and Beanie both, for all their flaws, legitimately offered their unfiltered opinions and didn’t care what the rest of us thought.
we may not have liked what they were saying or selling all the time, but their voices were loud and oddly necessary.
so I ask, who’s up next? who is going to be our new Roman Reigns? right now, there is a void of “heels” in the NFT space. so rise villains…it’s your time.

speaking of performance art, WAGDIE (which I wrote about yesterday) decided to “sacrifice” a Mutant Ape last night in their Twitter Spaces. it was valued at over 20 ETH but now lives in the digital graveyard.
at least, that’s what people tell me, I still can’t read their tweets.
I realize if you’re going to do something like this, you gotta go big, but why couldn’t you sacrifice something a little more worthy to start? remember Kevin from Pixelmon? I feel like that cursed image much more deserves to be in the burn wallet right now…
marketing stunts like this give you a lot of eyeballs and may be worth it in that sense, but they usually age like avocados. I look forward to in a few months when someone says, “hey remember when that one project burned a Mutant? I bet they regret that now…”
plus, where do they go from here? I look forward to finding out, but I’m not a fan of them lighting money on fire, when they could have just sent it to me instead.

Disney continues to drop news of their eventual metaverse play, now hiring a bigtime former-Apple exec. I’m excited to see how it turns out, with hopes that it’s not a dud. because if it is, we are done for, I think. but luckily for us (if Coinbase is any indication) the Disney metaverse won’t exist for another 1-2 years at minimum.
speaking of Coinbase, it’s not looking good over there. they not only have been layoffing off a bunch of staff, but they’ve also rescinded job offers they’ve made over the last few months. it’s brutal for those affected and I ask you to remember that the bear market (even for NFTs) has real world effects and isn’t just a time for memes.
