taking some time to shout out another chain today.
for the most part, my newsletter is strictly about ETH NFTs (with an occasional post about SOL NFTs).
however, Tezos NFTs have long been a love of mine. they’ve yet to have their “moment” for sure, but for me, they’re primed to have a Solana-like rise in next cycle (both the coin itself and the NFTs in that ecosystem).
my predictions aside (I’m rarely right, fwiw), Tezos NFTs are not only *way* more affordable than Ethereum and even Solana NFTs, but they are also simply more fun for art collectors.
part of that is because Tezos’s marketing team a year ago had an aggressive campaign to try and bring legitimate artists onto their chain. and while it wasn’t wholly successful, there is quite of a bit of good art on their main marketplace now - objkt.com (which I’ve written about previously).
some of the artists use Tezos to experiment…saving their main pieces for Ethereum, while others are exclusively on Tezos because it costs a lot less to mint there.
as tends to happen on these “second tier” chains, a lot of the art is stolen and copied. so be on the lookout. however, if you do your research, you’ll find some absolute gems, some fascinating news artists, and at the very least you’ll have a lot of fun buying art on objkt.
don’t worry there are PFP projects for you degens too. Tezzardz, Ottez, and countless others will give access to Tezos communities, so you can lean on their expertise of others early on. it’s very welcoming.
give it a try! the stakes are low, and the upside of learning about cool new artists is high.

it had been a while since we could all collectively hate on OpenSea together, but yesterday they gave us another excuse to do that.
due to an exploit, an intern (yes, an intern) had the permissions to apparently lift emails from the OS database and then leak them.
this somehow caused a few thousand Bored Apes to be *briefly* delisted by OpenSea…not exactly a project you want on your bad side.
many of you are reading this newsletter because of email. I still think it’s the best internet innovation (other than the blockchain of course).
but we *may* need an alternative to Gmail in Web3, specifically. LooksRare (an OpenSea alternative marketplace) intentionally doesn’t collect emails to avoid the privacy issues that come with them.
in a space that holds up anonymity as an ideal, email tends to undermine that (especially when your email is firstnamelastname@gmail.com). also, whatever we can do to mitigate people from clicking on links is *probably* for the best in a space full of scammers. LooksRare might have been onto something; now it’s about finding another system.

this person is very smart, but somehow not smart enough to know how to take screenshots. jokes aside, I suggest reading how this ENS hack could help prevent wallet drains and prove ownership of NFTs without them being in that wallet.
