⚓️ your y00ts application has been...
gm.
life advice: you overestimate what you can do in a day and underestimate what you can do in a year.
so just imagine how much lower your NFTs can go by this time next year.

obvious statement is obvious, but storytelling will be an important part of all our NFT journeys moving forward.
and for that reason, UTA has made a concerted effort to sign Web3 artists who understand this. today, they officially announced they were signing MV3, Emonee LaRussa, Vinnie Hager, and Andrew Wang.
some of those names should sound familiar to you…in particular Vinnie and Andrew who have been constants and advocates for the space since last year.
these early UTA Web3 clients will try to usher NFTs into the mainstream. it’s no coincidence that "Stranger Things” is so prominently featured in their press release. by mentioning the biggest show of the summer, they’re hoping that everyone’s eyes take notice…not just Web3 people.
will this initiative be successful? time will tell. there’s not exactly a flawless track record of behemoths like UTA successfully integrating themselves into a subculture.
that being said, no one anticipated that comic book nerds would be the leaders of movie culture 30 years ago either. so you never know.

in the last few days, you might have heard some words you’ve never heard of before around here…y00ts, DeGods, and DUST are all anyone is talking about. but *what* are they?
if you’re familiar with the Solana NFT ecosystem, this is nothing new. DeGods have been one of the most popular projects on that chain for a while now. DUST and now y00ts are both directly associated with the project.
what’s novel about y00ts (and what has gotten everyone talking) is their “application” whitelist system. you connect your wallet, link your Twitter, answer some questions and see if you have been *accepted* by the Solana (de)Gods.
it’s cool to consider that many are creating Phantom wallets (the Solana equivalent of MetaMask) for the first time trying to get onto the y00ts allow list. DeGods are surging, people are buying DUST, and the trickle-down means Solana NFTs are having another moment. that’s also cool.
call me a skeptic though, but this seems to be a system that we would have decried only a few months ago. people with big followings are getting accepted, creating FOMO about the project, and will likely dump onto those who *weren’t* accepted the first time around (aka us, the “small timers”).
as a marketing technique it’s genius. as a way to level the already uneven playing field? it’s another step back.
DELTA ⚓️
Zuck continues to go on podcasts and promote his metaverse. first it was Lex Fridman and now it’s Joe Rogan where he gave a shout out to Penguins 👀
as I continue to promote other’s work, my recommendation for today is to go read @DaganBernstein’s newsletter. he’s got one of the most informative and *cleanest* newsletter in the game right now.
