thinking about getting some writing done for your NFT project, but don’t have the time?
well, neither do I.
that being said, I’m available to freelance for you as I build out my portfolio. I specialize in SEO writing and of course…NFT news, which I will be getting to right now ⤵️

amazon NFT marketplace?
we have once again been given a sliver of hope.
first, it was Coinbase’s NFT marketplace that was going to bring the masses into the world of NFTs. after that failed, we had LimeWire, GameStop, and countless others try to get into the mix. then, it was *maybe* going to be Starbucks that saved us all, I guess?
it’s been a wild ride, and it’s about to get wilder as Amazon has now thrown its hat into the ring…as they look to launch its NFT marketplace *soon*.
do you hear that? it’s the sound of potentially millions of people learning about NFTs from a trusting source *once again*.
as the thread from Wale points out though (above), Amazon is a company known for experimenting and testing the market. if it doesn’t work, they’ll simply get rid of it, much like they did with the Amazon phone.
I, for one, am not getting my hopes up this time around. but it’s good to see that there *might* finally be some new users headed our way.
you know how you get drunk sometimes and then end up waking up the next morning having bought a bunch of stuff on Amazon? imagine that but with NFTs…
(don’t drink and Prime folks)

what are ‘owls’?
Checks meta has faded slightly, so to keep ourselves entertained, this weekend we got obsessed with Owls.
(and no…these aren’t related to Moonbirds and Proof if that’s what you were wondering)
Minh (see thread above) goes into the details of how this *seemingly* simple ASCII project took off…with the joke being we once again have no idea.
sure, they seemed to “allow list” certain communities that could reach a big audience once they minted?
and yes, they also kept the price low enough?
I guess their founder (Rei Nicolas) seems genuine in their messaging…as they want to keep it simple?
(keeping it simple is something I can definitely vouch for)
but on the whole, this is an imperfect science. we can’t predict what’s going to happen, and once it does, we often feel like we are forcing it sometimes.
even over the past 24 hours, their sales have cooled down and the price floor of owls has plummeted from almost .3 ETH to almost half of that…as the hype cools down and we move on to the next *big* thing.
you can read more about Owls here. as with most projects, if I’m fading it, then you know it probably has a good of breaking out and hitting a 1 ETH price floor.

Coinbase NFT marketplace may have been a bust, but could their actual NFT be something?
(probably not).
Base NFT is a project from the huge crypto giant that has bit from the NFT meta of the moment. not only did they launch it as an open edition, but they updated the metadata to be more like Checks.
but this means you can no longer FUD me for launching my project Cheeks. if a billion-dollar company is making a derivative project based on Jack Butcher’s iconography then so can I.

Creature World back?
an OpenSea x Danny Cole open edition made some waves over the weekend. the founder of Creature World is *back* to working with NFTs…and made a lot of money with his first project in over a year.
for those who aren’t aware, Creature World was once a super promising, artist-based NFT project started by the aforementioned Danny Cole. but when he overhyped some phases of the “journey” and caught some bad PR in the process, it sank the project from a 3.5 ETH floor to a 0.18 ETH one at its nadir.
but now, with this huge mint from Danny Cole…he’s back from his “break” with Web3. does that mean we can expect Creature World to rise again too?
there could be a renewed passion here, which would make its current 0.2 ETH price seem cheap for a genesis project of an artist that clearly has a pretty large following in the space…
that being said, it’s easier to find the motivation when you’re sitting on a million dollars than when you’re sitting on lackluster royalties again.
see you Thursday.
