⚓️ no place to hide
gm.
yes, it’s me. I have returned. Biv is back…and he’s all moved in.
for that reason, subvert has been *yeeted* back to his own newsletter (for now 👀), and order has been restored to the NFT newsletter world (but not my personal one yet).
moving was no fun. after shuffling around furniture and unpacking boxes for the week, I could not be *more* ready for the metaverse.
ALPHA ⚓️
if you know me, you know I love a good sleuthing. @zackxbt has been featured in this newsletter many times because I find it so fascinating what he does.
for those unaware, he’s an on-chain detective…and one of our best ones at that.
and today he got a *huge* bump in popularity…no, not from my newsletter…but instead from one of the space’s most popular artists.
yes, @zachxbt has earned himself an Everyday Beeple after 1) cracking the case of who was responsible for his Twitter hack back in May 2) locating the addresses containing over 180 ETH in lifted funds.
considering this, an honorary piece is the *least* Beeple could do.
BETA ⚓️
NFT merch is officially in stores! those stores? *checks notes* ah, bummer.
today VeeFriends announced that their new line of plush stuffed animals would be hitting the shelves at Macy’s and Toys R Us.
while those department stores aren’t *exactly* in their prime, it’s still significant news for the NFT space nonetheless.
we have to start somewhere, I suppose…rarely can we just start at the top (as much as we think we deserve it).
so it makes sense that *down on their luck* retailers would be the first ones willing to take a chance on VeeFriends and NFTs like this. it’s the ‘old guard’ and ‘new guard’ teaming up to take down the giants.
DELTA ⚓️
Manifold is probably the premier tool for artists who want to mint NFTs. now? they might just become the best platform for artists to *sell* those NFTs too. what was the WordPress of NFT contracts is now becoming the SquareSpace of NFT contracts…
how could I not shout out @subvert_nft…who held it down for me while I was away last week. if you found him to be better than me, you’re not alone. not only was he prolific in his output (even producing a weekend edition of the newsletter), he also formatted everything exactly as I do. what a mensch. go subscribe to his newsletter as it gets started.
