are we having fun still? I know I am but the down markets have really left people distressed.
remember to get some perspective. someone told me to go touch some grass yesterday. I felt that.

the good news? Elon changed his profile picture on Twitter to an Ape!
the bad news? he right-clicked saved a collage made for their Soethby’s auction.
the NFT world was set ablaze yesterday as Elon Musk changed his Twitter PFP to Bored Apes, only to (in signature Elon fashion) troll everyone by tweeting out this:
we will have to wait a few more weeks to Elon to pump our bags it seems.
it’s been a rollercoaster week for Bored Ape holders as they’ve watched their floors tank while the web3 community FUDs their land sale. no one exactly feels bad for them, but this is some extra salt in the wound. even worse, the shot from one of the world’s richest people was seemingly out of nowhere.
unless…
Elon has in the past trolled something only to buy it later. Twitter for one, but let’s not also forget that he negged Doge before becoming one of the world’s last supporters of it too.
I do think it’s only a matter of time before Elon buys an NFT. clearly, he has his gaze set on Bored Apes (who doesn’t), and he’s if nothing else, he’s a great marketer. no one constructs a crazy narrative for their investments quite like him.
I say book it: Elon has or is going to buy a Bored Ape by EOM.

the Karens are winning…
Gary Vee and his Vee Friends project are in some hot water with some recent plagiarism claims that are hard to dismiss. the art of a children’s author and illustrator by the name of Karen Ritchie was uncovered and it bears a striking resemblance to Gary Vee’s main project. in particular the ‘gratitude gorilla’ has drawn a lot of attention.
the blockchain unfortunately does NOT fix this. while Gary Vee and his team continue to rake in ETH from their Vee Friends sales, Karen gets nothing. “Good day ser!”
stolen art is always going to be an issue and the recourse for it still relies heavily on an old system of lawsuits and corporate suits (which Gary Vee definitely has better access to).
unfortunately, whether the claims are legitimate or not, Gary Vee will likely emerge unscathed. that’s what money and power does for you.

just imagine the utility on the new Vatican NFTs. a free pass to heaven on the blockchain? yes, please.
refunds are out for the Otherdeeds gas fiasco. it’s a gesture that technically didn’t need to be done, but I still look forward to seeing how people FUD it. “a real Web3 company would NEVER refund gas!”
LooksRare listing rewards V2 launches today. with it, we’re really just gambling now for real. want more rewards? list that NFT super close to the floor then…I absolutely love it. LooksRare is the best marketplace out there and it’s not particularly close.
