the trial of jimmy
we finally have many of the details surrounding Yuga Labs’ “Trial of Jimmy”.
and surprisingly, it *will* be another mint. people have been speculating for months as to what the trial would entail and most were convinced it wouldn’t be *more* NFTs into the ecosystem.
but of course, Yuga being Yuga…no one could even get close to what they had in store.
here’s how I understand it will work:
there will be a standalone game launching on January 11…with clues being dropped before then on how to win.
then, on January 18, the mint will go live for having completed the game.
based on the Yuga assets you hold (more on that below) and your performance in the game, you will then get your new Yuga asset revealed on February 8
the game will go on in some form for *all* of 2023
plus, owners of Bored Ape Kennel Club dogs will get an added little bonus, which of course led to a big pump on Tuesday…shooting the price floor all the way up from 6 to 8 ETH.
the newly minted asset will seemingly depend heavily on your “tier” in the game, which (again) is based on your performance, speed, *and* the Yuga assets you own. the tiers will be broken down as follows:
Tier 4 = Ape+Dog
Tier 3 = Ape
Tier 2 = Mutant+Dog
Tier 1 = Mutant
they’re been setting up the dominos and after Christmas, we’ll get to see the first one pushed over.
as always…Yuga continues to innovate. just when you think they’re getting stale, they’re able to drum up hype with ease.
if only one of *my* Twitter threads had this power.

wolf game full launch
well, they’ve actually kept a group of *diehard* followers. and word leaked out to the rest of the NFT community this week that the full game is *almost* ready to be released after 1+ of work.
think back to the end of last year…Wolf Game was all anyone could talk about for Thanksgiving, and it launched the meta that P2E was going to be *big* in 2022.
how’d that turn out again? (horrifically)
but of course, because time is a flat circle, it’s the end of 2022 and we are once talking gaming….again with Wolf Game leading the conversation.
will this *actually* be the year?
hopefully. I won’t be making that prediction again though in fear of getting burned once more.

what is going on with GoblinTown?
speaking of bad predictions…remember when I said that truth’s team was executing at a level comparable to Yuga Labs? woof.
all projects have to a degree fallen on hard times, but apparently, GoblinTown has been ravaged harder than most.
the most successful project from the “free mint” era of NFTs hit a 9 ETH all-time high…but has fallen down to .58 ETH as I write this.
and the community’s disappointment with the aforementioned truth labs has leaked out to me on Twitter…which has me asking, what happened here? is it poor management? or merely people lashing out because of that depreciated floor price?
(I’m honestly asking)
they’ve seemed to do some cool stuff this year (grumpls, burgers, CC0, and installations at events)…but despite all that, I’ve rarely seen anyone rocking them as PFPs.
is GoblinTown a ghost town now?
