⚓️ what is Beeple Studios?
gm.
screw evergreen Friday. there was too much NFT news to write about today.
my next installment of the NFT Survival Guide will have to wait…
ALPHA ⚓️
word on the street is that joining a community council is the next *big* side hustle.
rumors swirled yesterday around the payment structure of those on the Bored Ape Community Council. some claimed it would be upwards of $125K/year…which sent NFT Twitter into a tizzy.
councilmember @0xWave decided to set the record straight…clarifying the exact total councilmembers would be receiving. the total ($25K USD in Apecoin per year) seemed to quell the haters and squash the discussion (for now).
but I’d like to revive the conversation. when you really think about it…isn’t $25K/year FUD?
Yuga is a billion-dollar company making (potentially) million-dollar decisions. their community council helps lend *valuable* advice that helps them:
better navigate those decisions with their community
helps make sure their decisions (at the very least) are *not* catastrophic ones
the council’s compensation seems 🆓 when framed that way (just saying 🤷♂️).
BETA ⚓️
2021 was good for Beeple. he made one of the biggest NFT sales ever (that helped spark the bull run) and attracted cult-like status within the NFT community after the fact.
his influence is almost as prolific as his output…so it’s cool to still see him making *bold* moves like his next one…Beeple Studios.
he unveiled a “trailer” for it yesterday, and it left everyone asking the same question…“so what is this thing?”
what we know so far about it is this:
it’s a warehouse
it’s big
Wylie Aranow (aka GordonGoner) says he’s been and it’s cool
always one step ahead, Beeple probably understands that with this…as with NFTs…that it’s best to keep people in the dark.
it’s much better for the hype.
DELTA ⚓️
not your keys, not your coins. I understand that using a behemoth like Coinbase for payments and your business may *seem* like a good idea for its convenience… but as the founder of alien frens shows us, it’s probably not. I hope that this can be resolved for mason and his employees’ sake.
another day, another new newsletter! Zain is the founder of Chippy’s World and a *really* good community builder. his newsletter is going to offer advice on this subject and more. and let me tell you…his first edition starts with a *banger*. I, for one, am going to try this ‘building in public’ thing myself; this newsletter could use all the growth it can get!
