⚓️ WTF is a PBT?
so now that we have ALPHA, BETA, *GAMMA*, and DELTA sections of the newsletter, I’m also adding subheadings.
hopefully, these will allow my skimmers out there to stay up to date on NFT news without *actually* having to read my nonsense.
not all heroes wear capes.
Azuki introduce their Bean Chip 🛹
aside from Doodles, Azuki is one of the *other* major NFTs of the last year.
yesterday, they came out with a series of announcements on what 2023 might look like for their brand.
the future? PBTs and S2O apparently.
never heard of them? that’s because they made it up (or invented it depending on who you are asking).
PBT = physical-backed token
S2O = scan to own
the idea is that there will now be scannable microchips (called the Bean Chip) inside Azuki’s physical goods.
their example of this technology is a 45-lb golden skateboard made for Azuki holders.
this skateboard has a Bean Chip inside that can be scanned and tied to *you* and your wallet specifically. the ownership of the skateboard IRL will then qualify you for *digital* utility.
(the skateboard offers no IRL utility obviously as it’s a 45-lb skateboard that you surely can’t ride)
a dedicated Azuki website will track all of your tokens (as well as your swag) and will award you with badges based on your IRL and online Azuki achievements.
if it’s all confusing to you still, just imagine typing it out…
“right-click saved your house, I own it now” 🏠
anyone who has bought a house knows how annoying the paperwork and the transfer of ownership are (if you haven’t, just trust me here).
for that reason, NFTs have always offered the *potential* to disrupt the real estate industry. and maybe we’re a little bit closer to that reality now…
this weekend, a house was bought via NFT.
the jokes have already been made, but what if you’re hacked and your house’s token is lifted from your account?
obviously, the hacker’s ownership claim would *probably* be struck down in court. but it’s funny to think about someone showing up at your door and evicting you because they just bought your house on OpenSea.
what a future that will be…
y00ts scraps their art 🎨
y00ts is one of the anticipated projects on Solana. but we’ve been waiting…and waiting…and waiting…for the reveal.
well now…prepare to wait longer!
the team and @FrankdeGods have apparently decided to scrap the design they had and start over.
(apparently, getting beaten to market by a derivative isn’t a good sign for the “art” of your project)
the new meta is revealing bad art so you can rework it, “listen” to your community, continue building hype, and collect secondary sales royalties.
it’s all taught in the intro to NFT Marketing class taught by Azurbala and Jenkins the Valet.
Devotion launches the !SPLAT project
in homage to the recent protesters who destroyed a Van Gogh painting with cans of soup, the Devotion team has launched their first project…SPLAT.
it’s a dynamic NFT that allows you to throw some digital soup at a digital work of art of your choosing.
a pretty cool idea that capitalizes on a recent news story. that's how you know it’s going to pump.
