Saturday marked the 1-year anniversary of the BivNFT newsletter.
first, I want to thank my subscribers. for all you loyal mfers that have been reading me all this time, I’ve made my *first* NFT (with the help of Manifold).
I thought it would be fun to create a free claim (100 passes) that will give you lifetime access to my writings. that means you’ll be airdropped any books I write, allowlisted to any projects I launch, etc.
personally, I think “free” is a little pricey given that kind of commitment, but if you want the NFT it’s available here:

Yuga acquires 10KTF
quietly in the chaos of the weekend that saw FTX “hacked” and SBF “on the run”, Yuga acquired 10KTF and WENEW Labs. it’s easily Yuga’s biggest acquisition since LarvaLabs.
the synergy is intriguing…10KTF specializes in metaverse wearables and WENEW has leveraged some pretty high-profile collaborations with luxury brands (Yuga was sure to highlight them in the press release).
so it should be exciting to the Yuga community in terms of both mass-scale adoption and their Otherside metaverse that they’ll have 10KTF as a partner.
however, with overall NFT sentiment waning, the Bored Ape price floor is hemorrhaging…now hovering around a 50 ETH price floor as I write this.
it’s been a rough weekend for everything crypto-related, but particularly Yuga assets...
(certainly, their connection with FTX and SBF hasn’t *exactly* helped)
acquisition news like this used to galvanize the NFT community. now? we’re all kind of just hoping it works for them…because it would be a huge setback to have Yuga lose any more ground here.
BETA ⚓️
what is Nike’s .swoosh project?
details are emerging of Nike’s .swoosh…their newest venture into Web3.
on Friday, they’ll begin giving access to their platform that hopes to blend physical and digital goods (much like Azuki said they were trying to do with their golden skateboards).
it’ll be partnered with Polygon to make everything…even your .swoosh username…an NFT…and the first launch plans to drop in January 2023.
Nike has used RTFKT to test the waters with crypto folks, and they obviously have found some success there, because now they are ready to attach their iconic swoosh logo to Web3.
(so get your Clone X’s while you still can)
we now have multiple big-time companies with NFT…erm…digital collectible platforms. add Nike to the list that includes Reddit, Instagram, and Starbucks.
it’s promising, but given the timing, I can’t help but be worried. fingers crossed…

remember Coolman’s Universe?
well, after one of the worst rollouts of a second collection I’ve ever seen, they’ve been floundering and (oftentimes) are the butt of jokes on NFT Twitter these days.
but they’re looking to bounce back…on Instagram.
CoffeeDan has taken his “spesh” character to Meta and made 10 exclusive collectibles that were available *only* on Instagram. he joins an exclusive list of artists who have been allowed to mint on the platform.
you know what they say…if you can’t beat ‘em, join another platform.

Art Council?
speaking of bad rollouts…Azurbala had one of the most disastrous art reveals this space has even seen. it was so bad in fact that they’ve now had to hire an “art council” to advise them on how the Azurians *should* look.
we’ve seen community councils (with Bored Apes, Cool Cats and Gutter Cats), but never an art council before. the team they’ve assembled is pretty great though:
Waheed Zai of Smilesss
OSF
Mando
and Bryan Brinkman.
if you haven’t checked out the art of these folks, I highly recommend doing so (Bryan I’ve particularly been a fan of for a while because he’s also hilarious on Twitter).
I wish them the best and hope they can salvage this project. no pressure, but the next version of Azurbala better be amazing…otherwise, it’s doomed.
I am a new reader. Thanks for your material and the token.
