the Decision…
remember when Lebron ruined the entire city of Cleveland by “taking his talents to South Beach”?
not dissimilarly, there was another big *Decision* made in the NFT world on Monday…and in this scenario, Solana became Cleveland.
I’m being dramatic of course…but this news most certainly *will* have big effects on the NFT world at the end of Q1 2023.
yes…deGods will be moving to Ethereum and somewhat surprisingly, y00ts will be moving to Polygon (so technically an Ethereum side-chain).
in an already floundering crypto market, Frank has decided to leave Solana…in what appears to be a *long-term* play. but despite its poor price currently, leaving Solana in the dust (labs) will likely come with its drawbacks.
in particular, Polygon has been spending a lot lately to form partnerships lately…with a particular emphasis on NFTs. and that also seems to be the case here, with CoinDesk reporting that Solana apparently didn’t pony up Frank’s $5 million asking price to keep the NFTs on its chain.
but Polygon, similar to Solana, is heavily VC-funded. and while it’ll help keep Solana loyalists happy with its low gas fees, it doesn’t exactly offer the smoothest onboarding.
(I wrote about buying Arbitrum NFTs once and it’s not that much different a process)
but all in all, Frank’s Decision is likely a calculated and *correct* one given the status of Solana right now.
but one thing is for sure…I’m positive this is not the last time I cover this story for the newsletter.

a new Otherside trailer…and 🍑
going into the holiday, we were left a little treat by the team at Yuga…a new trailer to the Otherside.
(oh and also, a short film for the Trial of Jimmy that literally shows a key coming out of an Ape’s anus)
yes…Yuga truly DGAFs about what you think. your favorite billionaire-dollar NFT project has no problem making bathroom jokes and pushing us into discomfort…so long as it’s followed up by something we can hype up.
that’s exactly what they did hear, with the Otherside trailer revealing what the Koda companions will look like, what one of the desert terrains looks like, and bringing back the skeleton-looking Voyagers you may have used on the First Trip.
the updates show us that they’re still *building* for 2023…and that there is a lot to look forward to in the NFT world next year.
let’s see what the space can do and if we can pull off these weird tonal meshes we have going on right now…

what are ETH Gobblers?
you know the market might be back when some *random* project you’ve never heard of comes out of nowhere and starts flying.
that’s exactly what happened with Omakasea’s Christmas project called ‘ETH Gobblers’ (likely a riff on Art Gobblers).
as I write this, it’s already done close to 1000 ETH in sales and sits at a .5 ETH floor.
(once again you missed out on generational wealth too…as this was a free mint)
as for other specifics of the project, I’m still unsure…as I haven’t done my research (other than following Omakasea and ETH Gobblers on Twitter). I just know they’re called “Gooeys”.
